HELP ! After the Nougat Update finishes on my S7, and the apps are optimized, the Nougat Update automatically starts downloading again...and again...and again. I checked the About Phone and it says version 6.01 during the new download process so it did not register the update. I don't see any way to stop the cycle.
Suggestions will be appreciated!

Let’s stop this cycle, Tim24. I know how important it is to keep your Smartphone updated with the latest software version. Being that your phone is on downloading loop, try doing a factory reset to stop the downloading loop and to complete the software update. Make sure to have all your phone’s content backed up to the Verizon Cloud (or any other Cloud of your choice), as a factory reset will delete everything from your phone.

While you are in the recovery mode and before you do the reset I would try and clear the cache partition first. That will at least get rid of all the old files that are stored in there
