Solution :

I have Galaxy S3 and having the exact same issue. Mine was chargerable thru PC only !!

I called Samsung and Verizon ,possibly everywhere and nobody came up with solution...

What I found out was that some of the Galaxy devices became only chargerable by Original Samsung Cable + head.

I had problem because I was using iphone usb head . It resolved after I used Samsung OEM usb head ( from Verizon -not a junky oem from EBAY)
