radar320, I have noticed the same thing with Verizon's software update page. One day it will show the MK2 update and sometime later it will change to the MI1 update. It seems to shift between theses two updates.
I was doing a little investigating on Verizon's update site (the one that list all the phones and the last time they were upgraded). It seems that there is at least one phone in Verizon's inventory that got an upgrade to KitKat (besides the ones that came with it pre-installed). The HTC One was upgraded to KitKat on 2/6/2014 according to this site.
And? They have still not updated our phones beyond a month now since the last other major carrier updated. It all points to them trying to make a profit off the angered customers in hopes to force us to buy the GS5. It's utter greed and Verizon is laughing at us all.
Yeah, all of us complaining doesn't seem to phase Verizon. They're not going to roll it out until they're good and ready. Unfortunately, that is what it seems like. They are just showing how greedy they really are by force feeding phones onto customers to get the OS. Especially when the previous version of phone that was released a year prior is perfectly capable of taking the update.
"They are just showing how greedy they really are by force feeding phones onto customers to get the OS".
Your statement doesn't seem to hold water as the HTC One was updated to KK just before the launch of the HTC One M8.
Too funny. Now there is announcement that Google is coming out with 4.5 or may skip directly to 5.0. Now we'll have to wait months or years before SG4 and SG3 get an upgraded.
I for one will no longer play this waiting game with Verizon and their crappy customer service and coverage that seems to be getting worse as time goes by. I am leaving in July. Good riddance Verizon.
I was going to post this, but someone started a new post with the information that I had discovered. There are a couple of websites out there that are suggesting that the Verizon S4 will be getting the KitKat update starting on Friday, May 2. See this post: https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/821621?sr=stream&ru=3355976.
That would be nice if it can be true. Lol. We've heard so much speculation of when it might come for the past two months, and look where were all at still.
Thanks for the link. I will give at look see too.
