Happy New Year all!
I have a question, I recently set custom tones for a few of my contacts. I am not having an issue with the ringtone for calls working properly however, I am having an issue with the notification tone working.
I went into the contact & set the message alert to the tone I wanted for the contacts but it's still coming thru as the default tone. I should also mention that I am not using the stock texting app I am using the VZ Messages app.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Are the custom notification tones saved to the internal memory space on the phone?
It might be possible for the VZ Message application to be overriding the custom designation for those contacts.

I think they're on my memory card. I'll have to move them & see if it makes a difference. Thanks

Try going to the contact IN the messaging app. I think the contact message tone only works if you have Samsung messaging as your message service, not message ++
