My zip code is 48661. I do have better reception closer to town, which
is to be expected. This phone seems to have worse reception and drops a
lot more calls the my previous phone(Samsung Convoy) that was 3.5 years
older. I've been monitoring the dBm #s and the best I ever had, in town,
was 92. Most of the time the #s are between 110 &119. I didn't know if
this was normal or if there might be something else I could try. I
thought I read somewhere that sometimes a new sim card is needed, but
I'm not sure what to do next.
Thank you

You should really read my post that is linked above for being a duplicate from another question. Do not get the S4 unless you want marginal reception. It will not work in a rural area. I tried 3 different S4's before Verizon gave me a Motorola Maxx

The OP hasn't been here in over a month. It's unlikely that they will return.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
