I recently updated my S8 to Android pie and now have a Verizon Call Filter app and my line is enrolled in Call Filter Free. I read that this app would be free to all customers starting in March. When I launch the app, it doesn't seem to do anything except ask me to pay 2.99 for features. It has stopped no calls and has no recent activity, even though I have gotten robocalls. Am I missing something? The app is version 9.3.1.1. I think I read this app is an old version and I need to update it. However Google Play has Call Filter and says my phone is not compatible. Come on Verizon...this is making me very frustrated...I called to speak to a rep and it was the single worst customer service call in my life. Is there anyone in tech support who knows what is going on?

You might try Hiya. It's free and does much more than just filter/block calls.

It breaks our heart to read about the experience that you had over the phone. Our goal is to always provide you with clear and consistent information about our plans and features. We'd love to provide additional clarification on our Call Filter app. Follow this link to learn more about the Call Filter version for free and the paid version. In this link, you'll be able to learn about the two and if you swipe down the page, you'll also find the supported devices: https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/call-filter/ Did this information helped?

I too have the S21 Ultra bought directly from Samsung and the Live Chat representative tried for hours to help me with the Call Filter Plus activation. Its basically the fact that we buy a non Verizon phone, with the missing bloatware, that prevents us from using the "Plus" feature of the app. I would gladly pay the 2.99 month for the app to work on my new phone. Such a shame that Verizon cant figure out how to add the missing code to the existing app to make it work with unlocked phones.
