Every so often (sometimes as much as once a day) my 4G connection randomly turns off. Usually after switching between WiFi on/off. I notice that it gets stuck in 3G and I will have to manually go into Settings > More Settings... > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > and check "LTE" back ON.
This is getting really old. Sometimes I will not even receive any service even if 3G is on. Data will not send/receive until I go in and manually check LTE back on again.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Any solution?

Others with this same problem have tried with limited success:
- Settings > More settings > Mobile networks > Network Mode > LTE/CDMA
- Removing the SIM card, leave out 5 minutes, reinsert SIM and reboot.
- New Sim card
- Getting a CLN replacement phone under warranty.
- Returning the phone to Samsung for repair.
- Settings > Application Manager > All > Caller Name ID > Disable
- Prayer
And unfortunately, for some people none of these worked. They then lived with the problem or switchd to a different manufacturer's phone (IMHO Motorola is a good choice, but YMMV).

Just curious do you have unlimited data?
I live in a solid 4G area, but it happens to me randomly as well.
My fix so far has been to just turn the phone off and it normally reconnects to 4G.
I would hate to think Verizon is doing this on purpose.

I was kicked off unlimited data a long time ago. Rebooting the phone takes much longer than going through settings, but thank you for your input.

I noticed that since this morning my GS3 will not keep LTE conntection for long, even after reboot. I can normally keep LTE connection at my desk at work but I noticed the problem starting at home and along my commute to work as well. I am in the Atlanta area.
Not to add fuel to the conspiracy theory but I also have unlimited data and no other LTE verizon (nokia822 or iphone - tiered data) has the same problem.

- Settings > More settings > Mobile networks > Network Mode > LTE/CDMA
- I found this method caused other issues...such as not receiving service in some areas where Global would.
- Removing the SIM card, leave out 5 minutes, reinsert SIM and reboot.
- Only temporary fix.
- New Sim card
- I'm on my second one...Best Buy gave me a hard time replacing my first one (apparently they're supposed to charge you for it...ha). I might try this again, but I am skeptical.
- Getting a CLN replacement phone under warranty.
- What is a CLN? I have Best Buy warranty...I really do not want to send it out for repair or even get a refurb. Too much hassle. Would be last resort.
- Returning the phone to Samsung for repair.
- Last resort...way too much hassle.
- Settings > Application Manager > All > Caller Name ID > Disable
- Did this a long time ago. This bloat-ware caused many other issues that were resolved, but this one persists.

Thank you for your suggestions!

CLN is Verizon's "Certified Like New" program. Instead of a new phone under the warranty program they give you a phone that has been returned for some reason and has been repaired and passed X number of steps in a quality check. Sometimes you get a good one and sometimes not.

They say in all conspiracies there lies a little truth.
Were just going to have to keep watching this.

legalkill, thanks for these details. Service looks good in Atlanta. Let's take a closer look at your device. Have you downloaded any 3rd party applications to your device? Some application software can affect the performance of your connection. Try uninstalling a few applications in Settings and power your device off/on again. Keep us posted.
