I just updated my phone today. I took my data card out of my old (LG Octane) phone and put it in the new one. I have photos and ringtones on the card, but the S4 won't allow me to access them. Do I have to do something special or is all lost?
Have you tried moving everything on the card to a folder on a pc? When you are sure you have the folders and files on your pc put the card back in your phone and format the card with your phone. Then you can use the USB cable that came with your phone and plug it into a USB port on your pc and move the files / folders back to the SD card or your internal phone storage. You could also after you format the SD card with your phone take the card out of your phone and put it back in the computer and copy the files / folders back the SD card. Put the SD card back in your phone check see if you can use the ringtones etc. To get the PC to recognize your phone you may have to down load and install a file from Samsung support pages for your phone.
