Missing Features In Nougat

Before Nougat was released, Samsung produced a manual describing all the changes that would be included in Nougat.  I guess that Verizon did not see this manual as they have removed (or disabled) both the Device Maintenance feature and Samsung Cloud.  Since Samsung published that these WOULD be (not might be) included in Nougat.  Okay Verizon, when are you going to give these back to us?

Especially if the carrier in question has to pay extra for those features. Then the carrier might opt to not have those options on their branded device model.

I disagree.  I think that since they were advertised to be in Nougat then they should be there regardless of cost.  I am still waiting for someone from Verizon to explain why these features were removed and when they plan on adding them back.

Samsung doesn't require them as standard features. Not every model has all the features that Samsung could include because those features are extra. Verizon Wireless has more cost then most carriers for the radio frequencies to make the devices fully unlocked and global ready. If they want to keep the cost of the Verizon model close to the other carriers, they often don't pay for the extra features.

I was a Note 7 owner, I got the original one that ended up being recalled and then got the replacement Note 7 which also ended up being recalled.  The Note 7 was a great phone except that Verizon decided to remove several features that the other carriers did not remove.  Sprint actually sold their users a stock Note 7 with no Sprint branding on it.  All they did was have their "bloatware" installed.  AT&T and T-Mobile did almost the same thing except they did put their brands on the phone.  One of the biggest disappointments was that Verizon removed the Settings menu that was unique to the Note 7 and replaced it with a copy of Marshmallow version of the S7's Settings menu (I think AT&T also replaced the menu).  Verizon also removed Samsung Cloud, the Device Maintenance feature, and they did not include Samsung Pay (even though you could download and install it from the Play Store) from the Note 7.  I think that Samsung should not allow carriers to dictate on what they want and don't want on the phones.  After all the phone is manufactured by Samsung not by Verizon.

Samsung can dictate the included features if they made them all part of the standard package. Samsung doesn't do that. They charge for the non-standard features like the Samsung Cloud and the Device Maintenance and likely the FM receiver at one time.
