Hello AWilson0610,
A lagging keyboard is not fun. With a virtual keyboard becoming more popular on smartphones, it's super important that they are response and accurate. Let's make sure yours is doing just that. May I ask have you tried the steps that breezex provided? Thanks breezex! If so then what were the results? Also, are you using the default keyboard or a 3rd party keyboard app? As you share the details then we can assist.
Thank you...

ArnettH_VZW - I tried replying to your post in the forum but reply wouldn't
work...I did try what Breezex suggested and it did not help. I am using
the factory keyboard have also tried the Google keyboard. I am wondering
if it isn't all keyboard related - I also have problems with other progras
and typing so I wonder if it is the touch screen. My husband has the same
phone and he doesn't have any problems...are there some settings I can
adjust for the sensitivity of the touch screen? Thank you for your help -
would LOVE to solve this problem

OK thanks for trying to clear the keyboard app cache AWilson0610. Does the Google keyboard behave the same way? Is the keyboard lag happening with a specific function or app? When did this start? When did you last try a battery or SIM pull?

Jonathan - all keyboards work the same way. No specific app I notice it the
most when texting and I am using the factory program for texting. I pull my
battery at least once a day and the phone has always begun this way. Have
not pulled my SIM card yet and will try that. Can you suggest settings that
would make the screen sensitivity not so high? I know I originally thought
it was keyboard but I wonder if it's the screen itself?
Thank you for your help it's starting to drive me crazy

Thanks for the additional details AWilson0610. We would be delighted to continue researching this issue. Can you further explain what's exactly occuring? Are any apps running when the lag occurs? Please keep us posted, thanks!

Matthew - ever since I have gotten the phone it has lagged with the
keyboard. When I type a text or anything that uses the keyboard it is
slow. It also does it if I am wanting to hit an icon sometimes I have to
touch it harder to get it to open. I like to text fast and I can't do that
cause I have to hit the buttons harder to get them to work. Not sure if it
is a problem with the sensitivity of the screen - it does this for every
keyboard I've tried - I've gone into the settings and adjusted the Tap and
Hold Delay I've set it to short and long and it doesn't matter. My husband
has the same phone and he has no problems with his. I have closed all apps
so nothing is running and that doesn't help, I have wiped the phone 3 times
and that doesn't do any good either. I do have a screen protector on it
but it is a high quality one (I can't remember the brand) so I didn't think
that was the problem (also the same one my husband has).
I used to have the Galaxy Nexus and the keyboard/screen sensitivity was
awesome on that! Disappointed that this phone is not the same. Can you
please give me some suggestions?
Thank you -
Amy

We appreciate the additional details, AWilson0610. You've done quite a bit already. I know you said your husband doesn't have the same issue with his phone which is the same. Have you personally tried this with his phone? I ask this because I have witnessed a lag with people who do type fast and the phone processor not catching up as fast and causing the device to freeze, lag, delay.

If you are a fast texter and realize that it lags mostly when you are texting fast, try the keyboard TouchPal X. It's free and has a lot of awesome features. It even lets you know how fast you are typing and has a lot of different input options to match your texting needs. I was having difficulty with my Google Keyboard so I switched and I absolutely love TouchPal. It's also great if you are a Swype kind of texter.
