The seller claims it to be a verizon network device. I used the device ID feature to check the IMEI and when I put the number in I get a message saying they need Sim ID. The phone does not come with a sim card. Will I be able to use this phone with Verizon if I purchase a Sim Card?

Let's look further into this ashmcglo! Did you check the IMEI here http://vz.to/18lGDDy ? If so, and an inelgible status did not populate you should be able to activate the device. Below the area where it inquires about the sim id it should display "Need a new SIM card? Find your nearest Verizon Wireless location to purchase one." You can visit a corporate Verizon Wireless store http://vz.to/1aDzA92 to receive a 4G Micro NFC Secure Element sim card. Thank you and enjoy!

It all depends on what kind of Sim Card it use and I believe Verizon only use Sim Cards on device that are 4G because they are a CDMA carrier which does not use Sim Cards like T-Mobile or AT&T.
