How can I delete an email by swiping it?

I'm sure it's easy - but I can't figure it out.  In my S4, I could delete an email just by swiping right.  On the S7, I swipe it and then it comes back.  I've looked all over for the setting, but can't find it.

I have the Galaxy S7 as well and I am always looking for a faster way to manage my email. Are you using the Google Gmail app or the stock email app?
