I need help. I can not get my play store to open it pops up something that says google apps has stopped or something like that. Ive tried taking the battery out everything I can think of. It is to the point I can not even use my facebook app because it shuts it down and says it stopped working? Is there any way I can fix this?

I would try clearing the cache and data for the Google Play Store app before trying a factory reset. Go to SETTINGS | APPS | ALL and find the app and select it.

I have that issue now after the update. They said I have to Factory Reset and I don't want to as I have stuff in games that I cannot transfer over my progress and cash. I'm hoping they will give me and option to avoid this. I will be switching when my next upgrade comes up. I'm sick of verizon.

Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped is the message I have gotten on my phone.

Do you have an SD card installed for pics, etc.?  Also, your games, did they come from Google Play Store? If so, when you do a hard reset, you have to download everything from your account in playstore again.  If you have the sd card, whatever you can save on there won't be affected.

The message you got is the one I kept getting.  The Tech and I tried everything. Clearing ram, soft reset (removing battery) and waiting a couple minutes, etc.  The hard reset I had no choice but to do if I wanted my phone working right.

I found the answer on another thread.  I had to enable a second "Downloads" application that was at the BOTTOM of the apps list (because it was disabled).  I got messed up because the original one was in alphabetical order and already enabled.  Once I did that, it allowed me to update my apps and the error message went away!
