I've got a galaxy s7 that's less than a year old. For some reason the auto-brightness feature keeps turning itself on. I have to turn it off several times a day. It's irritating not only because I have to keep going in and deselecting it, but because when it's turned on my screen goes extremely dim to the point where I can hardly see anything! Is there any way to permanently disable this feature?

Is there an adaptive brightness setting for the display?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Stumple2005,
I can imagine this can becoming very upsetting. I want to look closer into this for you. Can you go to Settings>Display> Auto adjust brightness. Once there, can you slide the button off? Please let me know if this helps.

I slide that off SEVERAL times a day! That's my point! It just turns back on randomly without me adjusting the settings after turning it off (again).

I would be just as frustrated in your shoes Stumple2005, we certainly want to get this fixed once and for all. When did this first start happening? Were there any recent changes to the phone, like a software update or new apps?

Couldn't tell you precisely when this began happening... I'd say at least a few months ago (today is 10-24-17)
