Galaxy S4 won't boot up past white Verizon screen

My Galaxy had been acting up in the previous day or so, closing apps without notice. When it continued today I attempted to restart my phone to resolve the issue. Now my Galaxy won't turn on any further than the white Verizon screen. I have already tried clearing the cache data and performed a factory reset on the device but neither has had any effect. I would very much like to get my phone working again so an support would be great

You can try using Samsung Kies program to recover or to reinstall firmware with Odin. Just Google search for more info.

I have tried using Kies but it does not detect my phone connected through the usb cord as it is not turned on all the way.

Hello jsowden,

I am so sorry to hear that your phone has stopped working! If you have already tried a hard reset, http://vz.to/1m1awUA and the phone continues to not work, it is likely to need to be replaced. How long have you had the phone? Is there any physical or liquid damage to the device?

Thank you,

I've had the phone for approximately six months and there was no physical or liquid damage to the phone.

Thanks for confirming jsowden. Did anything change on the device since the last time it was responsive? Any new apps, settings or updates? Did you try both the standard and alternate hard reset methods? http://vz.to/19jJtZW
