Why do I keep getting "Data Usage Overage Alert" text messages even after texting YES to an increase? Is this a programming error or an attempt to increase revenue?

That is definitely odd, mlea. Let's help figure out what is going with all of these messages. If you already upped your data to avoid overage charges, you should be good to go. Just double check your My Verizon, and see where you currently stand.
It is possible that if you are receiving multiple messages, you may have originally gone over your data limit, and the system is receiving alerts of additional usage that would have added to your overage. It just takes a bit for those messages to cycle through. If everything appears correct and updated via your My Verizon regarding the upped data limit, you are good. If you have additional questions or concerns, reach out to customer service at 1-800-922-0204, and we can help review further. Thank you, mlea.

Not being satisfied after I caught Verizon charging over $100 for text messages, 3 times, on an UNLIMITED text plan, they have switched to the over data limit game.
They cannot PROVE the actual data you use so why should we accept their statement when they have been proven in the past to lie about text usage???????????????/

I am in same situation. I bumped my data plan up to the next level about 2 months ago. And I am still getting the text & email messages saying I am approaching my data limit. Every time I log in to look at my data, I am no where near the limit...so I think that the alerts are locked onto my old plan. It is even happening with the widget in the iOS control center.

Have you logged into your Verizon account and check the alert settings? You may have them set to alert at a specific # rather than a %. Pretty simple to check...

Yup. Definitely did that.
