Connecting Samsung Galaxy 7 to PC

When connecting my phone to my PC, I've read all the notes about pulling down the notification settings to change from "charging" to file transfer, but those options simply don't appear.  Is there another place in Settings I can go to change this so I can transfer some large files off my phone to my PC?

Thanks

Have you tried a different USB port?

Do you have your phone connected to your home wifi? I have a Netgear Router and have a app that goes with the router on my phone.  On the app there is an option to do turbo file transfers from phone to computer for large files. Also do you have your Developers Option on the phone working?

Being able to transfer your information to the computer is essential, LeahG35. Let's get this working. Have you been able to do this previously with your S7 and current computer? What options do you have when you plug it in and pull down the notification bar? Are you following the transfer steps listed here: http://spr.ly/6586DJoeG?

Kathy 65793 has the right answer.  You have to active the developer settings to set up the USB transfer.  To do that, go to the About Phone setting.  Click on the Build number option.  Tap on 'build number' 7 times.  You will then be notified that developer options are enabled.  Then go to Developer Options, turn on USB debugging, and change the USB configuration from charging to MTP.
