The phone will discharge overnight if not at 100%. There isnt any phone damage, we have reset the bettery..it was the upgrade...i see from these forums everyone is having the same problem...theres need to be a fix soon? Anybody?? Verizon??

We want you to enjoy consistent performance from your GS4's chaparralguy1! Did you retain all the same apps after the update? Any battery saver, security or task killer apps? The new OS may be conflicting with them. Have you tried a soft reset by pulling the batteries? Do you power cycle the devices at least once a day? What type of functions are you using the device for? There shouldn't be that much change after a software update.

chaparralguy1 is correct.
There are major battery issues with this 4.3 update. Both phones in our house are getting 1/2 the life out of a charge now.
A quick internet search of the forums show a lot of traffic on this topic.
We need a quick fix here.
Thanks

4vances The first update, i believe was 4.2.2 was the one that destroyed the battery life. The next week Android 4.3 was released..that seemed to help alot.It is still not what it was, i use minimal apps....have tried a soft reset....i am not going to do a factory reset yet...will wait and see if they come out with a patch, there are other minor issues with the update as well...i am not happy with the problems, it used to be a great phone. I will no longer jump on the updates. Hopefully someone at Verizon or Samsung will get the message. If you read the threads there are alot of unhappy customers.

I'm having the same problem. My battery won't even stay charged for an hour...what is the deal with this phone? I just bought my phone in August and am still under warranty. Can I get a new battery?

We have had our phones for about four months, the battery life was great until the last two updates....4.2.2 destroyed it, 4.3 came the next week it impoved it considerably. If your phone wont stay charged for any hour go back to Verizon...did you do the last two updates? Google/Android/samsung needs to issue a patch for this...totally not acceptablle...there are other quirks as well. Good luck...This really sucks......

I've been reading and reading and unless I've missed something. It appears that Verizon and Samsung haven't done a thing to acknowledge let alone fix the issue. It's a rather sad service failure on their part. They keep reposting the same old canned responses and offering no fixes? Maybe they don't care and would rather have people just pay for a new phone?

Tip617, don't panic! Help is here. Have you downloaded 3rd party applications to your device? Some 3rd party application software can affect the performance of your device. Try uninstalling a few applications and power your device off/on. Keep us posted and let us know if the issue still persists.
