I have the same issue with my 2013 Subaru Outback and my 2014 Honda Civic. This is most definitely an issue with lollipop as everything work fine before the install. I have waited months now for a corrective patch without complaining. Having searched the Internet on this problem it is obvious everyone else is having this problem. Fix it Verizon and stop passing the buck

I continue to have this issue with my 2014 Honda. The native app will display the metadata, but Google Play Music will not, where it did before Lollipop. If I could, I would revert to KitKat....but I understand I can not. I'm not sure who owns this issue....it is either Samsung, Verizon or Google Play Music. Regardless, I need it fixed.

Having the same issue. Song info won't display on car stereo. I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu. It was working, then quit all of the sudden. My stereo display now only says Bluetooth Audio.
I've tried everything, but nothing fixes the issue. Somebody needs to fix this. I'm really getting tired of things being fixed that aren't broken. Rather, every time there is an update, things just get worse.
I don't know who is responsible, but it isn't the music player I'm using, which is Rhapsody by the way.

It is my understanding that music metadata not being sent to car stereos is a well known issue. It seems that Google sends a fix to the phone maker, who cuts it up and adds there own stuff. Then they send it to the service provider (Verizon), who does the same thing. After that the update is sent to the consumer. So, I would like to put my setup on the fix roster. I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu with a Pioneer stereo. My phone is an LG G Vista running Lollipop 5.1.1. Please let me know if you need additional info. Hopefully a fix will be available soon.

Audrey900,
This isn't what we want to hear happening. We know that having this feature is nice & want to make sure that this is resolved. As you mentioned, this is a known issue that is coming from this 3rd party app. We do encourage that you reach out to the developers of this 3rd party app to see when their will be a fix for this. Verizon Wireless however, will keep you updated if we do hear from the 3rd party app developer & Google about any resolutions.

Yep, the 3rd party developer is Google. I've already checked different
music services and still have the same problem. I took the car to the
dealer and they could not fix it. They paired a phone still running kit Kat
and it worked just fine. So, this is something that Google is going to have
to fix whether they want to admit they created the problem or not.
Somebody has to own this and come out with a fix.
Sincerely, Audrey

Below are the things I have tried to fix my car stereo display.
- starting with the simplest thing, I rebooted the phone.
- unpaired and re-paired the phone with the car several times.
- uninstalled and reinstalled my music player.
- Tried 2 different music services.
- reset my car stereo back to factory settings.
- Took my car to the Chevy dealer. They could not fix it. They paired a
phone that was still running Kit Kat with my car and it worked just fine.
- connected my phone to the car using an aux cable
- I've called you, LG and Chevy. Google is impossible to get hold of.
- Finally, I did a factory reset on my phone.
None of these things have worked. Here is what appears on my car stereo
when playing music from the phone. I'd like to know what, if anything, is
being done to fix this.
Sincerely, Audrey

So, is it your policy to not reply to people? I have sent you two messages
and have not heard from you. That's really rude. I would drop Verizon right
now if you didn't have the best coverage where I live. But, I guess that's
what you rely on, isn't it?

Audrey900,
We here you loud & clear. This saddens us that you would think about leaving the Verizon Wireless family. We value you as a customer & always make every effort to help with your wireless needs. As we know that having this function available is quite nice, it is at this time a known issue. With being a 3rd party app (non-Verizon Wireless app), it is very hard for us to pin point what exactly would be causing this. Have you been able to reach out to the manufacturer of the bluetooth? They might have some other insite on this since they have manufactured this product. Samsung has a live online chat, you can click here http://bit.ly/1FDSMdj or reached by phone at 800-726-7864. We suggest that you reach out to Samsung if you have further questions. However, Verizon Wireless will keep you updated if we do hear from the 3rd party app developer & Google about any resolutions. Thank you for your patience at this time.

My phone is an LG, not Samsung. I have called them and they say they have
no responsibility because they just make the hardware. Nobody will accept
responsibility and there has been no peep from Google.
As I've said before, this seems to be a Google issue because it stopped
working right after my phone upgraded to Lollipop.
What am I supposed to do when everybody refuses to accept any
responsibility for it? I paid good money for the car and the phone and now
things are no longer working as they should. This is unacceptable to me.
If the phone and car makers want to make these products work together, then
they should communicate with each other when a problem arises. That is not
happening. I've already called everyone I can and basically get "it's not
my problem."
Can't I at least roll the phone back to Kit Kat, where things were working
just fine?
I've just about had it with this garbage.
