Samsung Note II - WIFI will not enable. When the wifi button is tapped, it turns light green and then goes out, without turning on. Has anyone had this issue? Hopefully it is a software issue and not hard ware.

Go to Settings > About Device. Do you see a Wi-Fi MAC address appearing? It may appear under Status in "About Device" if you don't see it at this screen.
If you don't have a Wi-Fi MAC address, the Wi-Fi radio has a chance that it is dead. The only way to know for sure if it's software or hardware, though, is to back up the phone and give it a factory reset.

WiFi is a great way to avoid unnecessary data usage. Lets get to the bottom of this. When you say it goes green, are you seeing any error messages prior to it powering off? When was the last time you were able to activate and connect with wifi?
