There have been 2 recent updates to my Note 8. I have noticed that when I want to listen to the audio on my phone, example Google Maps Navigation, it does not come through my cars speakers. This is annoying since the audio cannot be heard through the phone either. I have to disconnect my phone in order to hear the navigation.

We want you to be able to utilize your device while on the go. It's concerning to hear that audio is not coming through your car, despite the devices being connected. What model of car are you using with your Note 8? Did you previously have this issue with the Note 8 or has it only been since recent updates?

It is important that you are able to hear audio coming from your device while you are in the car, especially if you are getting directions somewhere on Google Maps. How are you connecting your device to your car? Are you using a 3/8" aux cable? Are you using Bluetooth? Does your vehicle have a special application to connect the Note 8 to the entertainment system?

Being able to hear the audio on your phone is crucial, no matter what you're doing. How is your phone connected to your car? Are you using a USB cable, Bluetooth, or AUX cable to connect?

It might be as easy as turning up the car radio volume. When I stream, I have to turn the radio volume way up.

We do want to make sure that the audio plays through your car speakers, pattycaro. There can be several reasons why this is not working. Jav6 and jrh4054 have some great recommendations as the volume can be controlled on the phone and vehicle. Have you tried deleting the Bluetooth connection and re-pairing with your vehicle? I would recommend making sure that you have the latest software update on your device and I would also recommend checking with your car dealer to make sure that your radio system has the latest software updates.
