Just got a new Note 4, tried to plug it into my computer and no USB notification on the phone or the computer. I've tried turning on USB debugging, still no go. I've tried 4 different wires and 2 different computers (windows and osx). The phone just makes the charging sound and the charging icon, but there is no other usb connectivity. I've tried using Samsung kies and smartswitch, neither see the phone. Even parallels on the mac doesn't bring up the "which computer do you want the connection to go to" screen.
Let's get to the bottom of this. Has this device ever connected to any computer? Have you tried to set your device back to factory defaults? What have you tried so far?

Connect your cell phone to the computer
When you hear the tone from your computer look at you cell phone and swipe down from the top of the screen
You should see a notice saying "Connected as an installer Touch for other USB options"
Touch it and you will see two choices, Media device (MTP) or Camera (PTP)
Choose Media device (MTP)
This should connect your phone to the computer
Since it has been taken out of the box, I've tried to connect it to 2 computers. It has never been able to connect.
The device IS at factory defaults, and yes, I have tried to reset it again.
@stargazer72460 As I said, the phone has NO notifications when it is connected to any computer. There's nothing in the notifications swipe down.
i had faced this once before and was able to resolve it by using the original usb cable that comes with the device. If you are using the standard usb cable for some reason the device is not detected but will only charge.
Hope it helps
My phone doesn't show any notifications either when I connect it to the computer, but if I swipe down from the top of the screen I will see the notice saying "Connected as an installer Touch for other USB options".
