We definitely want to help you conserve your data and enjoy your phone, vtgamer22. What happens when you are trying to connect to WiFi? Will it connect when you remove and re-add the connection and then just not reconnect after the phone goes to sleep? Is there any error message you've noticed?

Once the phone goes to sleep I can not reconnect or even bring up the wifi
settings. When I click on the wifi settings it times out and never fully
comnects. The only way I can adjust a setting is by restarting the phone. I
do not receive an error message. I have restarted the phone, forgot the
wifi settings and then reconnected to the wifi metwork. Once the phone goes
to sleep and I turn it back on, I can not reconnect. I have also done a
full reset to factory settings and it still happens.

vtgamer22,
Let's take a closer look into this for you. Please ensure your settings are as follows: settings, connections, wifi, menu, advance, uncheck auto network switch.
Please keep us posted on this issue.

Yes, I have unchecked the auto network switch and this does not work
either.
When I try to reconnect, the wifi button in the notification bar is half
way lit but never fully connects to the network. When I press and hold the
notification button, I can not see a list of available networks till I
restart the phone.
I have even done a full factory reset of the phone and I still have this
issue.
I have also changed the channel on my fios wifi router and still had the
same issue. I have eliminated the problem being on network itself as any of
my other devices have no problems connecting and staying connected to my
network.
I previously had a note 3 from sprint and and never had this issue.

Vtgamer22,
Thanks for trying that out and giving us all of those details. I was wondering how you have done the Factory Reset in the past on your phone? There are two different methods and one may be more effective than the other.

I have done the factory reset through the settings on the phone.
settings > back up reset > Factory data reset.

Thank you for clarifying, vtgamer22. If you toggle airplane mode on/off does this allow you to connect to WiFi after leaving sleep mode? To toggle airplane mode, press and hold the power button until the phone options screen appears and then tap Airplane mode to enable/disable.

No it does not. In fact, this hangs up as well and take a while to kick in.

Thank you for this information, vtgamer22, and all you've done as well. I know you mentioned having changed the broadcast channel of your router. Just in case if it is a B,G,N router, have you tried testing the wifi connection of your phone to see if it stays connected by disabling either the B,G broadcast and leaving the N, or vice versa on your router? May be worth checking to see if it makes a difference.
