Will the Note 7 eventually get upgraded to Android 7.0?

1.  Will the Note 7 eventually get upgraded to Android 7.0?

2.  If I decide to keep my phone, and it catches fire or stops working (through no fault of my own), will it still be covered under the 1 year warranty, and will my phone be replaced?

creativeusername,

You've come to the right place for answers. The Note 7 is no longer being sold by Verizon Wireless. We will not be supporting further updates for it. We strongly urge you to power down the phone and not use it anymore. Your safety is our highest priority.

I'm assuming there will be no android updates or support for the Note 7.

I don't care, I had the S7 Edge and hated it! HATED IT! I Added a line to my account and gave Edge to my Father to use. Every other device Verizon has right now is crap I want this phone.

I will return all device on my account if you will close it with out penalty.

The Verizon rep is correct.  No support; warranty is void due to the recall.  If you keep the phone it is at your own risk; extra protection plans are also void.   It is the only reason I turned mine in, or am in the process of...waiting on the box to mail it back.

I'll deal with the Edge for now but even only using the Note for two weeks had me spoiled.  I agree, within a year for a new version as Samsung will be looking to recoup the high losses.

PhaCough,

We want you to have a phone that you'll love. We also want you to have a phone that is safe and you can count on though so we would still strongly recommend returning the Note 7. We're committed to finding a solution and keeping you in the Verizon family. What issues did you have with the S7 Edge? We're glad to try and find another device that will meet your needs.

The S7 edge

1) has an ugly, bulbous, rounded chassis

2) has a smaller screen

3) can only fit SD cards up to 200 GB (lol??)

4) lacks a stylus

Issues with the 7edge... the U.S. version is the 32gb, not the 64gb readily available elsewhere in the world. Offer us this one as a replacement for our Note 7s, let us upgrade to the new S8 Plus or whatever takes the place of the Note 7s when they are released - with no penalties, hurry up with our tax, equipment, and insurance refunds, and Verizon might still hold on to some loyal customers.

You have to return it. Verizon is blacklisting the phone. They started sending out this text: This device is not authorized for use. Please activate another device or call 800-922-0204 or service will be suspended but billing will continue
