I did not pre-order and had planned to go in to the store and get this phone this month. Are they going to stock it again once the battery issue gets resolved?

I haven't read anywhere that they do not plan on carrying it again. Seeing as how popular the Galaxy Note series is, I would be very surprised if they decided to stop carrying it due to a manufacturing issue that is being fixed.

Hmmmm, wonder what's gonna happen with the 1M to 2.4M recalled phones? Maybe they'll wind up back in Korea, get new batteries, washed, waxed, and sent back as refurbished! Say, in six months or so, driving the prices down on the N7 in the move toward the N8 next summer? Yes, I think there will be a bunch of brand new N7's for sale very soon. And I think Verizon will have their share. The only way for Samsung to recover is with momentum; lot's and lot's of momentum.
And I love my N7. I took out insurance on it for the next couple of months until this thing is resolved, continue to use it, and will exchange it for a new one just as soon as it's available. It's a really good phone.
Should I be upset about the insurance? Nope. After selling my old phone, taking advantage of the bundled pre-order incentives (I opted for the S2) and getting a really good price on the phone, my net cost is a $122 on $1000 of stuff, even after the $22 for two months of insurance.
I'd be happier in a zero defect world, but heck, I come from a time when 23% of the tech parts I ordered for assembling PC 8088 parts were DOA or died soon thereafter.
Maybe our phones will come in today. . .
