I agree, whenever IFA is this year (usually in August), we will see the next Note phablet or whatever Samsung decides to call it.
I don't believe there will be a Note Edge 2. I still see this a Niche product that is over priced. I can't justify paying more and not getting more. If they had released the Edge with a Snapdragon 810 & 4gb of ram then I would say yes it's worth $799. In reality your getting a Note 4 with a smaller screen and a side screen case manufacturers won't touch.
As I said earlier, both the Note 4 & Edge were featured at IFA Berlin at the Samsung Unpacked event. I watched all two hours of it, so I know I'm not crazy. The handsets were designed side by side sharing the same Note 4 lineage.
Just because they were featured together doesn't mean they were designed side by side. An after thought as I said before. They were nearly finished with the Note 4 and they decided well let's try a proof of concept(gimmick as you would put it). They take the Note 4 code and build on top of it for the EDGE shortening the process needed.
Just a tidbit of information(no pun intended) the Note 5 and if the Note EDGE is remade they'll have something other than the 810(something newer) just like how they have the 805 now instead of the 801. 🙂
