Verizon is trying to force customers to upgrade! !

I recently purchased the note seven I upgraded from a s five and i'm trying to just go back to using the s five tiloine of the phone becomes available.  I have tried to get the Verizon store to take the phone back they say I have to use the link from a text sent out as ally the text-only allows you to upgrade if you want to return your phone . Verizon representative I talked to said the store has to take your Phone back.

I have tried to get a box sent to me but they keep running me in circles telling me that I have to use the link to get the box.

I have had representatives tell me they have order me a box but after not receiving the box I called to inquire and they told me that no box was ordered for me .

Basically verizon is forcing you to select a phone to upgrade before they will give you a way to ship your phone back.

I don't understand why there has to be so many lies and Deception.

I just want to revert to my old phone until the LG V20 becomes available and have the taxes refunded to me.

It's surprising blatant and transparent the scam. Shame on verizon from trying to scam It's customers who have made them rich.

They would rather scam their customers to protect their profits than be honsest and upstanding.

Verizon can't and shouldn't legally force you to upgrade!!! I am also upgrade from Note 5 but Verizon never send me a return shipping label to return my Phone until today!!! So I reactivate Note 5 and will not upgrade until Note 8 comes out. There are no agreement between you and Verizon because Note 7 was recalled mandatory so you are not obligate nor agreed to do anything except return the replacement Note 7!!! If Verizon don't send you a Box then you don't have to worry about but write it down when, who and where you spoke to Verizon Rep just to keep a trail.

Thank you for the reply

Yes I have differently started keeping track of who I talk with and what is told to me.

The only reason I am even concerned about getting the phone back to them is so they will refund my taxes for the phone purchase.

I was told that until the phone is scanned at a return facility that the taxes will not be refunded.

I will gladly throw the phone away myself if they do not want it back but I want my money back. Just like they want their money when it comes time to pay the bill.

It just seems that I can't find anybody that wants to help just return me until i buy a new phone.

I experienced the same scam. I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S6. When I returned my Note 7, I was told that I had to upgrade to the S7 Edge or another phone, and I could not go back to the S6. When I refused to upgrade they told me that I could go back to the S6, however I had to pay full price for it. This was absolutely ridiculous, why would I repurchase a phone that I already had. I was losing the $180 that I paid at the upgrade time plus the money that I had in equity in my phone that I paid over the 15 months that I had owned it. Verizon has taken the position that they will not lose any money due to the Note 7 recall, and instead they will pass on the losses to the customers. I have spoken to an attorney about my experience and he and several colleague are in the procees of drafting a class action lawsuit against Verizon for this.

And the class action will fail in court.

A company sells you a dangerous product that is recalled, and then they refuse to indemnify their customers. That's not grounds for a lawsuit? You sell me a product that is recalled, and then refuse to give me a full refund. That's not grounds for a lawsuit?

This isn't Russia buddy.
