Today I upgraded my note 4 to Lollipop and I have been very pleased with it so far as I can testify it works flawless. I preformed this OTA on the Verizon network, the first upgrade was unsuccessful so I punched the button again and all went well. I think it took about 20-30 min for the entire update. All I did to prepare was backup and factory reset plus I made sure to update all apps..I really wasn't sure about this update after reading all the negative comments and kitkat was working just fine. Most reviews were on the negative side, however there were a minority of ones that worked..
After the update I can say everything works and the phone is much more responsive, battery life was good before the update, however after the update, battery life is much improved. I charged it about 1 am and at 11am it was at 99% that's with the phone left on all night with a whole bunch stuff running in the background.. Before the update under roughly the same conditions it would be about 96-97%..IMHO, I prefer this over the old system, plus I now have HD calling!!
Disclaimer: I do not work for Verizon or Samsung and Iam just a user of the Galaxy note 4!!

After reading the posts from quite a few people on this forum posting the negative comments about the lollipop, I wasn't sure if I wanted to post my successful update to lollipop. Since I read your post I decided to get in here and post my results. I have had zero problems since the update (I did mine on April 3rd) and everything is still going fine. I did not do a factory reset after the update since I did not encounter any problems with the update. I am very happy with the update and I am looking forward to future updates since I seem to be one of the lucky ones to hardly ever have any problems with any updates. The times that I did have a problem, the solution was a factory reset and that fixed any problems that I had. I am not saying to anyone out there that is having problems with the update to go ahead and do a factory reset but it might help.

Dear Netminder, First Iam sorry to hear about your bad results and Verizon's lack of support, as these phones are very costly, plus the fact that they are not willing to fix it.. I wonder how old your phone is, as mine did not have a lot of stuff on it when I up graded. Also perhaps the reason there have been a lot of failures is the original kitkat may have been corrupted, not sure though. Did you ask them for a replacement??Best Regards Radiotron

Thank you Radiotron, I have had my Note 4 since about December 2014. I can not remember the exact number of resets I have, and the reset yesterday via the repair software. So far, a replacement has not been discussed. I do have insurance on my phone, so I can not understand why I have been dealing with this for more than a month now.

I have been thinking about the problems so many users are experiencing with the lollipop up grade and this is just my take. Perhaps the issue may be due in part to the many apps one has installed on their phone since some could have been written incorrectly. Also the hardware version of the phone is never mentioned and Samsung never notifies if they mod the phone at the factory, nor do they say the one you have may have a problem with the upgrade. Also other factors are Baseband version,Kernal version, Build number, configuration version and the list goes on!

Did you receive any resolution to your issue? I've been having the same problems, I also bought my phone in December 2014. I don't have many Apps on my phone. It freezes and at times says there is no SIM card and will shut down, I have to take the battery out and remove the SIM card and reboot before it will work. I'm beyond frustrated!!!
