Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Recall

I have seen a few posts from people asking if it is OK to keep their Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Here is FAQ's pulled from different sites....

Samsung:

Q: Is it okay for me to continue using my Galaxy Note7?

A: No. Because your safety is important to us, if you are currently using a Galaxy Note7, please power down immediately and participate in our U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program. If you bought your Galaxy Note7 from Samsung.com, visit samsung.com/us. If you have any questions, you should contact us at 1-844-365-6197 and we can help you.

Verizon Wireless:

Q: What if I don't want to exchange my Galaxy Note7?

A: We strongly encourage our customers to power down their Note7 device and process an upgrade by visiting https://www.verizonwireless.com/smartphones/.

Orders placed through 10/19/2016 will receive free overnight shipping. After you process your order, you’ll receive a special recovery box to return your Note7.

It is not recommended to keep your Note 7. If you choose to, I would not be surprised if the following happened:

1. Billed the full retail price of the device (since the DPP was cancelled automatically)

2. Warranty Voided

3. Insurance removed

4. No support from Samsung/VZW

5. Cannot take internationally.

Warranty insurance and non support are already there.  You also cannot fly anywhere with the device. And if it goes up in smoke you are liable not Samsung. And the billing....the device payments have been stopped but Verizon is also suspending accounts with the phone in them which they should do, in this sue happy world.
