My phone had zero issues prior to the most recent update but now the phone will suddenly shutdown regardless of battery charge or apps opened. The only way to get the phone to fully boot is by connecting to a home charger. If I don't connect to the home charger, it only boots to right after the verizon screen then shutdown again. What can I do? I have Asurion insurance but don't want to put in a claim for a defective device that should be replaced vice claimed w/deductible.

Hi Fooksdaddy,
Software updates should improve the device! I apologize that this did not occur. Has there been any liquid or physical damage to the device? Place the device in Safe Mode for a couple of hours to see if the issue still occurs http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/69429/ . Keep me posted.
