Is this a joke Verizon support? We want samsung messages chat feature, not verizon message+, otherwise we wouldn't be here asking for a solution.

Why can't you guys acknowledge your own notes? Instead of asking us to private message? None of you verizon agents will address the fact that the update notes for the galaxy note 20 clearly states in your own update notes "Now introducing Advanced Messaging for your galaxy note 20 ultra" it's on your website... the rep previously linked it and in the same breath denied it which proves none of you are reading the update notes. So frustrating can't get any acknowledgement. This technical support is a joke... you guys literally troubleshoot from a handbook guide and not actual experience.

Portigy1, thank you for reaching out to us. We are in the process of expanding Verizon's Advanced Messaging (RCS 1.0) to additional devices starting with the Samsung Note 20. Currently, Advanced Messaging is only available on the Samsung S9 and S9+and an update is scheduled to be pushed out to the Samsung Note 20 in January 2021. As part of a normal process with Samsung, they began pushing this update to around (20K) customers on December 18, 2020, to view usage through the holidays before pushing out to the full Note 20 base.

If Verizon is planning to release the update in January, why then does the release notes at https://www.verizon.com/support/samsung-galaxy-note20-ultra-5g-update/ say that Advanced Messaging for Samsung Messages is NOW available? This is causing A LOT of confusion among Note 20 Ultra users. If Advanced Messaging is not available please update the release notes to remove the Advanced Messaging information

Messaging is my go-to way of communication these days, Shaolinraiden, so it is imperative that things work properly and up to expectation. You are not alone in this issue with Advanced Messaging. In addition to this thread, we have internal forums discussing the same thing. Our team is gathering more information on what is happening behind the scenes to generate this error. You have already taken great steps. A factory data reset would not make a difference, so you do not need to consider that at this time.
Please allow us time to investigate and correct the issue. In the meantime, you may wish to consider using a different app to message. Some advanced forum users also suggested enabling "Data always on" in the developer settings menu https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-turn-on-the-developer-options-menu-on-my-....

Rich1mich1nancy,
We want to make sure you have the features you need available. I want to make sure we get to the bottom of this. Is your version of the Note20 made specifically for Verizon? Where was it purchased?

It allowed me to setup after resetting the app, making sure Wi-Fi was off and being in a decent 4g area.
