Need help with Galaxy note 8


My mom bought a Galaxy note 8 through amazon, well it came in the mail today , so i was gonna set it up for her , well I noticed it should’ve went through all the set up screens and it didn’t it went straight on home screen . And she does have Verizon SIM card .

she got a new phone cause her old one was dump in water and the screen is Shattered.

what do I need to do to make her phone workable for her ?
