Nationwide 5G is much SLOWER than 4g on my Note20

Since the pretend 5G was launched by Verizon my speed is 1/3 of what is is on 4g.   4g I was getting 75+ download speeds on 5G I barely get 20 (this is in Lincoln NE).  I try to force 4g but it always changes back on Samsung Note 20+ Ultra Settings/Connections/MobileNetworks.  Options are Global, LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UMTS.  No matter which I choose it’ll temporarily use 4g then changes to 5G.  Is there anyway to get the faster 4g again?

Stop using a 5G sim card. I'm using my sim from my LG V30 in my Samsung S20

What gets me is that, they know what's going on with our services. They know what plans we're on. They know what areas we're using our devices in. And they knew what our complaints would be before they rolled out and sold us on this 5G. The sad part is that being loyal customers, we keep hoping that they would do better by us. Moreover, there's hope that they'll do better by the reps that we voice our complaints and vent our frustration to. Leaving them to provide us with answers that they know is not going to solve the issues. But, due to the conflict of interest, and many of them needing their jobs, they follow scripts.

My Wife and I recently upgraded to 5G devices, me an iPhone 12 Mini, her a Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW.

On the 55+ Unlimited Loyalty plan, though I suspect this is a more universal issue.

We have both found that 5G connectivity is significantly slower than the 4G signal, and although I can disable 5G on the iPhone (and save a little battery), my wife is unable to choose an option that will disable the 5G communications until the network issue is fixed.

Do we know how much longer it will be that we'll have the troublesome 5G performance in comparison to the 4G infrastructure?

I am in Vancouver, WA mostly, but I think this is more general.

Thanks for responding, unfortunately, I cannot seem to send a PM through the community site.

I am aware that this is being worked on in many areas and is common among many carriers since standard 5G is rather new still.

I'm not sure there is much per-user troubleshooting to be done. Is there a way you can send the PM to me?
