Can't add exchange email account

I have tried adding my work exchange email account numerous times, as well as the IT department for my office. No one can seem to get it to work, after you enter in all of the information on the manual setup page you get the error "unfortunately, email has stopped working".
Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any fixes?

In certain cases the device needs a app to get it to fully function. On android you can find one on the Google Play Store.
