I have a note 7 that was recalled. I exchanged it for the second note 7 in September. I received multiple text messages and emails saying I need to choose another phone and return this one. They want it to be done via the website. I go to verizonwireless.com and it says I am unable to upgrade the note 7. Anyone else have this issue?

All upgrade eligibility dates have been set back to August 1st. Check again, and as NicholeK_VZW says, you can bring it to the store.
