What I don't understand is why there isn't standard threads...
Speaking as a long time forum member, there are FAQ's, Search, and the "More Like This" section, there are "Official" answers and lately a huge number of "Correct" answers being marked. The old Lithium platform did have "sticky threads" too. The irony is, if those tools work, most likely folks won't register, so the stats won't ever show them. They will come to the forum, search, find their answer and leave without ever registering for a username, and without ever posting anything.
Who DOES post? The ones who are NOT using the tools available, who just come and post their question (which probably has already been asked and answered) or those who just want to let off some steam and rant about the terrible customer service they received. Once in a while there is an unusual situation or a unique set of circumstances, but the majority of the forum traffic is redundant and cyclical - "Where's the update?", then "The update broke my phone", then "Where's the fix (next update)?" - endlessly. Along with the usual mix of device related "How do I ... ?" questions, and billing issues and misunderstandings, etc., etc.
And yes, ggnmg3703, other wireless carrier forums are similar in their questions and answers. The same complaints, the same questions, the same threats to leave for a better deal somewhere else....

This is one of the more strange forum setups and I think a lot of the people that come here aren't super familiar with how to work through and/or think because they have a different device or a slightly different situation that the Correct Answer they have already found might not apply. It's rare that I see someone here who has already done research and tried all the suggested fixes.

How far back who is going? The people looking for information? Hopefully not too far back because things have changed.

@SuzyQ MiiHere
ITs so much easier to just google a question, I can't understand why anyone winds up here. (On on most other forums either ).
I Can understand, however, not using forum history to find some answers. Many subjects will be time sensitive.
I have used Apple forums and tried searching for a solution based on subject. It's as reliable as playing slot machines! Rarely do I get links to previous, relevant posts.

I came to the Verizon forums for all the points!
They are so shiny and pretty and they're all mine!
I will hug them and love them and call them George.

I like avatars and emoticons too. It helps convey personality and inflection that is lost in plain text communications. I'm thinking about adding an emoji app to my phone but there are a bazillion to choose from and I wouldn't know which is best.
By the way, I wish I could thank your father for his service to our country.

I have been a member here since January of 2014. I can't say that I haven't told others where to take their shenanigans (but that is reserved for the ones who ask questions and tell us that our responses are wrong). I admit that I will have a lot of posts under my name like this. When you consider my 22+ years in the customer service industry not getting the opportunity to tell people what I want to say in the manner I would like, this is sometimes therapeutic. You can tell a lot about the situation, whether it is truly VZW caused or customer caused, by the tone of the original post. The ones where people are scammed or duped by VZW yet admit to not reading their agreements before signing (or even within the first 14 days). The ones who want upgrades months in advance because their device is broken but did nothing to protect themselves initially. In general, people unwilling to take responsibility for their actions. These are the posts when I tend to unload. I want to help as much as the next person but I have no tolerance for people who just want what they want and think that the rules should not apply to them.
I used to work with selling and troubleshooting these devices and I also have experience with selling and understanding VZW services. I am not an employee of VZW and my thorough explanations and information has led others to accuse me of being a VZW employee.
