My Samsung Galaxy S4 is due for a replacement as Samsung has ended OS upgrades. I'm waiting until next year to see what Microsoft does with the Surface Phone. All four of the newest Lumia models were released as GSM only devices...and...HP has done likewise with the new Elite X3.

If there is no VZW compatible SP in the works, or, Microsoft limits it to commercial users with no intention of selling to consumers, I'll look at whatever flagship model Samsung has out at the time

It's funny you say that.

I hate that I have all my music on my memory card and picture and can't transfer to my iPhone, so I bought a prepaid sim to use my brothers old Nokia windows phone. The phone acts up and I just decided to put the card back in my old note, but I tell you what, Windows has something on their hands

Someone in a Disqus forum suggested that Microsoft does not have a CDMA coder on staff, thus new Windows phones are strictly GSM. I don't know how accurate that is, but, if it is true, then, chances are good that the Surface Phone will also be a no go for Verizon Wireless customers.

I live in a Verizon Core (Ma Bell) area and have FiOS here at home along with One Bill (I'm grandfathered).

The only thing that would push me to switch wireless providers would be for Verizon to end One Bill and revert me to separate billing. At that point, I'd, likely, switch to at&t.

Your luck has ended.

With the launch of The New Verizon Plan now if you are on the Verizon Plan you MUST migrate to the New Verizon Plan in order to increase or lower your data. If you have One-Bill you are NOT eligible for the New Verizon Plan.

Yeah and it's a problem for a lot of people who buy devices directly from Google because they don't have CDMA compatibility and VZW uses CDMA, not GSM. Their phones are great for international seeing as all international locations (at least 95% of them) have moved to GSM.

From a databucket standpoint, my 1Gig is pretty much all that I need. At home I lock onto FiOS, and the few spots that I frequent I tap into free WiFi. I will activate 4G/LTE if I'm expecting an important Email. Otherwise, anyone who needs to reach me can "press the buttons".

I'm still on More Every Unl Tlk &Txt. I'm holding off making any changes until I settle on what my new phone is going to be, what my new plan should look like, and, if going back to separate billing is tolerable. I suspect VZW will have new plans in place by the Spring of 2017.
