I Get frustrated with the regular complaints about Edge and More Everything.  I can't say I agree with or like the program all that much, but it allowed me to cut my bill down over $100 while increasing my data pool to a usable amount.

its only been a year, but customers forget these discounted lines are new if you pay for your phone.

its a feeble threat to leave for about 1/2 the US because coverage is so poor on other carriers in some areas of the country.

True, the old adage of "You need to do for me since I pay" is long worn out.  People realize the hassle of switching and they get fussy with the new carrier because the ETF re-payment is slow to come to them just like a switching discount is slow to come to Verizon customers.  The only differences are the coverage and the colors.

Yeah...years of running cell plans one way has lead to spoiled ignorance.  Bills were all flat and simple, the same even if you bought new phones.

SO....the 'blue'  carrier decided to change it all and give discounts if you paid for the phones.  Now they all do it.  And the whining hasn't stopped since!

Verizon tops them at every turn with service.  Selling phones unlocked out of the box is the cherry on top.

I thought Blue was Orange.  Then Magenta and Red and Yellow.

LOL.  Yes, they are orange, as far as coverage maps and such.  I just see the blue globe and think blue.  And I call the other one pink, then yellow.

THe 'pink' call call it whatever they want, it's still pink to me.

That CEO is "hip."  You put all 4 CEOs in a quad-pic and you def tell who's who.

Verizon is the best despite rootmetrics potentially unfair measurement system.

Statewide for Arizona AT&T actually came out ahead of Verizon (at times), in Tucson Verizon is ahead of AT&T.

The reason that AT&T comes out ahead though is because of how the two networks are compared.  Their testing measures the strength or speed where they have coverage and where AT&T has coverage overall their strength or speeds are better than Verizon, however it doesn't take into account the areas where Verizon has coverage and AT&T doesn't.  So if AT&T covered 40% of the state and Verizon 80%, but AT&T was stronger in that 40% then they get a higher score (these numbers are not realistic just for arguments sake).

Having used both, they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

Verizon has by far the greatest reach.  I have literally taken a call on horseback in the middle of the Tucson desert.

I understand, I came from Sprint recently with basically no coverage in Tucson or anywhere else that I needed it.  I was amazed to have 4G all the way from Tucson to Organ Pipe recently.

I just think that rootmetrics should include a way of giving credit where one company has coverage and another doesn't.
