So powered up a brand new 4G network extender today. Immediately all phones in my home had full bars (we are lucky to get 1 normally), we have the network extender icon in the top tray and also get the "chime" when we make a new call so we are clearly connected. However, if we dial #48 the prompt says our phones are not connected to any network extender. What is going on?
We get the exact same thing. And when we make a call, our phone switch from 5 bars of 4G to 3 bars of 1x during the call and then back to 4G after the call. Is this normal or is there further configuration that needs to occur? */:-)
Yes, we recently installed the extender and we can make and receive calls. No more dropped calls. So it does appear to be working just fine. A new tiny icon appears in the indicator bar on our phones when we are in the house. But dialing #48 still reports that we are not connected.
Thank you so much for providing that additional information as it is very helpful sbduncan. We are glad to hear that the calls are going through and you no longer experiencing any dropped calls, but we can understand being concerned about the device saying you are not connected. We want to have you check the status of the extender to see if it shows any additional information on the admin menu. If you click this link here
Candice, I don't see a link to click in your reply. Please repost. Additionally, while calls are much better since installing the extender, our phones are having trouble receiving multimedia text messages. Any thoughts about why the extender is causing that? */:-)
I see. Thank you for clearing this up for us, and no worries. We will help you figure this out. To confirm, what exactly happens when someone tries to send you a multimedia message? Are you able to send them without having any issues?DavidR_VZW
