Is There A Monthly Fee To Use A Smartwatch?

Member

I'm considering buying the new LG sport watch and was just wondering is there a monthly access fee for smartwatches equipped with a sim card that can make calls?

Yes, $5/month on a More Everything or Verizon Plan.

The only problem is right now you can't activate the device on Verizon if you bought it from Google, the IMEI isn't recognized in their system. Completely ridiculous that I have to wait until mid-March when Verizon launches.

Re: Smartwatches

Agree. I was excited to receive my Dark Blue watch and ran to the verizon store, only to be told they couldn't find the IMEI number in the system. Called Google tech support and they said that the only carrier that supports the Google purchased watch is AT&T. False advertising if you ask me.

But, I read somewhere on this forum that a Verizon tech support person was able to activate the persons Google purchased LG Watch Sport. So maybe there is a way.
