I need help!!

Member

I tried to order an iPhone for my daughter. Verizon double ordered the phone which was $731 and now my credit card was charged twice for over $1400. I need to know how to get the orders cancelled and my money back. After this mistake I can no longer be a Verizon customer. I need my $1400 back NOW!!

When the phones come, keep one and send the second back. When it is returned the charge will be reversed on the CC.

Call your credit card company immediately and report the double charge. Then call Verizon to report the error and work with them getting it straightened out.

Thanks but I did all that but no luck BC not only did Verizon double charge

me they actually processed two orders and the phones have already shipped.

They accused me of ordering both phones 1 hour apart. Then they lied and

said the orders were cancelled but after that I got 2 confirmation emails

with tracking numbers for each phone for FedEx. No one at any number I call

for Verizon will tell me how I can get my money back and as for my credit

card I now have to file a dispute but since I will actually receive the

product that won't work. So I guess I have to wait til the phones arrive

and then pay to send them back and restock which is completely unacceptable

to me. I'm worried I will never get my money back even after I send the

phones back. But thanks for trying to help!

That is my plan now but at this point I want to return both phones. This

has not been a fun ordeal to go through. To be over charged like that and

no one really willing to help me and then I was clearly lied to when they

told me they stopped the order ECT BC the charges have posted to my account

and the phones are in transit and to be delivered by 8pm tomorrow so I just

want to return the phones and get my $1400 back and move on and pick

another service provider. I had no problems with Verizon the past 2 years

but this has been too much. I'm going to buy a phone from Apple and use

another prepaid service. I was told by verizon support on Twitter I can

return the phones to the Verizon store here in my town so after they arrive

I plan to do just that. I only hope that that information is correct.

Thanks for your response to my problem.

You will be charged restocking fees. The only sure way to avoid restocking fees is to refuse the delivery.

Your insurance company should allow you to dispute the $700 so you will not owe that money on your credit card bill until the dispute is settled with Verizon.

Seems a little extreme but it's your choice.

Verizon cannot refund the charge, especially if the device has shipped. Why? Because the device has shipped. If they refund you the charge while it is in transit then what is the incentive to return it? They will give you the money back when you return the device. Plus if you dispute with your CC and then they come after VZW for the money then VZW will come after you until the device is returned. So your best bet is to return the device you don't want when it arrives.

It is inconvenient but it's a simple fix.

Restocking fees aren't usually charged on Apple products that are still sealed in the plastic wrapping or any devices that have not been activated.

I'm certainly not trying to get my money back and keep the phones. I also

work in retail at a major pharmacy chain and I am well aware of the shady

things people will do. I just want to return the phones get my money and go

about my life with a different wireless provider. I finally spoke to a

wonderful man in Code internet order support. His name is Robert he has

told exactly what to do and told that through all of this I should have

never had to call the pre paid customer support line or any other number. I

should have been told to call internet order support whichever makes sense.

I am finally feeling hopeful about this situation and I think it will

finally be able to be resolved in a timely manner. I would not have been so

upset if this was 50 bucks but this is $1400 of my money that is gone until

this is taken care of. That's pretty stressful I think you would all agree.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my post and offer ideas. I

will let you know what happens in the next few days. Thanks again

Not usually, but I have seen where it has been tried. Refusing shipment is only 100% way to not get charged restocking fees.
