Desktop messaging app not syncing contacts

For some reason on the verizon desktop messaging client not all contacts are showing up. Whenever I make a new contact it shows up fine but some of my old ones refuse to show. My contacts are all on my verizon cloud and everything shows up on the my verizon account as it should online however using the downloaded desktop client some of the contacts aren't there. Messages and everything else work fine, just that I can't see some contacts. Already uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop client twice to no avail
