I have 14 days left of my Verizon contract. My phone currently does not work--can not make or receive any phone calls. Verizon doesn't seem to want to bend on the October 9 date, which I find ridiculous ... it's 14 days. I'm considering just changing providers, most likely going to Xfinity. I guess my question is, can I start that service now, with my existing phone number, or do I have to wait until October 9th for them to release me out of my contract? I have no problem paying the bill that is due next week, but just want a phone that works sooner than later. In these times, communication with my parents is critical, and can't have a phone that doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
