As it states in the heading, I'm experiencing very fast battery drains now after that last update.

UPDATE
Well I had my phone with me and planned on stopping in at the local Verizon store, but they were very busy, typical Saturday here in Cape Coral.
So instead when I got home I did a system reboot, followed by doing a Smart cleaning and reviewed battery useage, stopping a few apps I have installed, not that very many were a drain on the battery. I also went through my antivirus app, Avast, and reviewed all settings there. (I don't recall ticking or unticking any features, sorry!)
The long and short of it is I am now back to my 'normal' battery drain as it was prior to this last update. It is still a bit of a mystery to me as to what finally worked.

Please check your battery settings. Go to settings > battery > battery usage > battery optimization

Thanks Heretic1989,
I checked that and it all seems the same as before. I set it up to timeout the screen in 5 min. for now.
Cheers

Yes, my battery is draining very fast since the last update pushed out. In fact, the system completely killed my battery and a new second replacement battery. I have called Verizon tech support about it twice and gone to the local corporate store and no one seems to know anything about it.
It would be helpful if the Verizon tech support folks would provide some steps to a solution for this.

We want your device to work flawlessly. Since the update, are you running any 3rd party applications? Do you have any applications running in the background?

Pre the update my phone was draining at a somewhat normal rate, based on the age of the battery and the 3rd party applications I run daily, or background apps I let run.
Per the recommendations of Heretic1989 I did in fact check my battery optimization and made one adjustment as noted above; I decreased my time out to 5 mins. I also ran a 3rd party optimization app I use; Smart Optimization.
Having prior knowledge of Linux and Android my guess is something is amiss with the update and how it now uses battery power, or what it is runnning. Not what apps I have running at any given time since prior to the update I was fine, and now I'm not.
Next step is to visit a local Verizon Office/Store and see what they find. If I don't find a (logical) solution that way, next I visit social media sites...
Cheers

RobertH, thanks for your attempt at answering. I just did a factory reset., I am not running any 3rd party applications and I am not running any applications in background. Just now, I turned it on and the power was at 41%; I had it one for less than five minutes and it drained to 35%; with 55% of the battery use due to the screen. Anyone else experienced this?
Varenne, I have found the local Verizon store staff to be completely worthless about this issue (not to mention totally unsympathetic and only focused on me spending $500 for an upgraded phone). Please let me know if there are able to help you in any way; so that I can borrow from their expertise if they are able to help you.

I've tried removing a few apps, disabling others, plus reviewed yet again all of my settings like wifi and everything. Still drains the battery faster than before this last update.
I have not had a chance to stop by a Verizon store, but will post when I do and if they actually have a solution.
