Is my device protected?

I recently told someone my device is protected by an insurance plan, which got me to thinking. I don't receive any statements or communication from the insurance plan, nor do I see on MyVerizon that my device IS protected, yet I get an automatic charge every month from POS W/D ESH*TECHPROTECT PREM / 844-400-0452 GAUS in the amount of $7.67. How can I find my insurance policy? I need to make sure I'm not paying this amount for nothing! Thanks.

tbmedina,

I can see why this concerns you. It is absolutely important to understand the charge on your account every month. I want to clarify this confusion. Based on the information you provided, the charge seems to be for eSecuritel. This is a third party insurance, not purchased through us. Please contact them http://www.esecuritel.com/ for more information.

I would call Asurion and verify your policy. Their number is 800-861-9389 for customer service

I tried that. I just says "for claims" and then gives me choices for where I purchased my protection. None of them were Verizon. I called the number that the Verizon rep gave me to call to sign up for the plan. I don't know what's going on. If the money I'm paying is not going for insurance, then I want to stop it.

All you have to do is tell them what carrier and what product.  It will tell you the deductible.

I tried all these. It tells me I don't have coverage. Who in the world is getting my money?!

Former Alltel customer?

Just wanted to alert people who used to have Alltell that if you had signed up for cell phone insurance and it was being directly billed to your credit card, you should check and make sure it isn’t still.  Verizon says that they informed the insurance company (ESH) back when they bought out Alltell, but the insurance company says that they did not have the authorization to do so.  So I have been billed many months for coverage I didn’t need and no one will take responsibility for it.  My fault.

I will check that. Thanks. It shouldn't be the case with me, but it never hurts to check into it.
