G2 gets Lollipop first? WTF.

I don't want to hear about problems with it that's not the point.  How can the company justify rolling out the latest update to a previous model before their current flagship?  Incompetence?  Bad marketing?  The update is so flawed that they wanted to spare their flagship model owners?   Felt like beta testing it on the G2 owners?  Give us some explanation otherwise those of us that make informed decisions when we purchase will avoid or delay upgrading if there's no commitment from the company to support the top model.

After reading some of the posts on this forum, and after doing some online research. I've come to the conclusion that verizon/vzw will not update the G3 to Lollipop, let alone to 5.1

The reason being is that the G4 is coming out this year. And more than likely the G4 will come with 5.1

When that happens, vzw reps will then try to steer us towards the G4.

I know, it's a lousy situation. But remember, i'm talking about verizon/vzw. And anyone that's in the know. Knows that verizon/vzw isn't exactly a consumer friendly company.

You all think that VZW makes money by selling the devices. They do not. Once you have a smartphone they make no more money on you when you upgrade.

VZW is a service company. They make money on the service that they provide. I highly doubt that they are holding Lollipop from the G3 in anticipation for the G4. Do you not remember last year when the G2 was the last to get KitKat? Or why would they release Android L on the GS5 right before the GS6 launch?

I updated my Lg G3 with 23A OTA. Now using the upadte assistant both of my LGG3 are upated to 23C

Would like to know how you did this because I tried using the software upgrade assistant on 2 different computers to no avail.

I've never tried to use something like this on my LG G2, but I think I did on my Spectrum a long long ago.

Maybe try to enable Developer / USB Debugging mode:

connect your phone to the USB on the computer the phone will need to be connected as an installer. It will ask to run the software update assistant. Run it and then lauch the updater. It will check your current software the ask you to update.

I updated both my old G2 to kitkat the same way as I did for Lollipop.
