Kin Twom problem when open?

Starting a few days ago, my kin twom would glitch every so often. The screen would turn into a cluster of random colors, rendering it useless until I took the battery out and restarted it. Starting today, the screen goes black when I open it to use the keyboard. When it is closed, it is fine, but the slightest sliding of the screen turns it black, so I can no longer use the keyboard and see whats happening on the screen. What do I do to fix this? Also, it has not been dropped, hit, or gotten wet. The problem is literally out of no where. Thanks for any help.

update: screen now stays black all the time, even when closed. Phone: completely un-useable. Help?

It sure is hard to operate a device if you can't see the screen! If your issue is still going on, the only thing you can really try is to remove the battery. If that doesn't work, I recommend contacting the warranty center at 866-406-5154. We can look at replacement options for your handset given that there's no physical or liquid damage.  Feel free to send me a DM if that works better for you as well. I have the same problem, phone goes dark when open and return to normal when closed...the phone is still operating perfectly, but the backlight shuts off when open....makes it hard to see who is calling and what you are texting. I imagine replacement may be the only fix.

My daughter's phone just recently started doing the same thing. The screen goes black when she slides it open to type, so she can't see what she's doing. It seems like there is a big problem with these phones, no wonder verizon stopped selling them.
