Online Gaming disconnects

I have had a Verizon Jetpack® 4G LTE MHS MiFi 7730L since September 2017.  I use it primarily for online gaming and have had no issues for two years.  In December 2019 I started getting disconnected every two hours from any console or pc game I was playing.  I get disconnect just long enough for me to get booted then I would have to sign back in to the game and two hours later do it again.  What can I do to fix this?

We want to make sure that your gaming experience is not affected, we'll be glad to help out. Have you noticed if the jetpack shows any loss of signal when this happens? Have you updated your jetpack to make sure it's on the latest software?

Wifi isn't really that suitable for online gamimg compared to a wired connection. I have Comcast and even in games like Civ 6, I've had it d/c on wifi. Unlike wifi with a provider like Comcast, a jetpack will always be subjected to tower congestion.

The jetpack shows no loss in signal when it happens.  It is almost as if the disconnect is being cause by after an amount of data is used.  I can pretty much set a timer for two hours and it will drop consistently at that point.  The jetpack has the most recent updates.  If i use my phone as a hotspot I get no issue.

Omegauser, when you lose connection have you noticed if you are perhaps on a the same screen for a number of minutes? For example, the JetPack is created to drop that connection after a period of non use. -LorenB_VZW If my response answered your question please click the _Correct Answer_ button under my response.
