Agreed - no quite as promised. Be aware of calling other country (not US and not a country you are in). They will charge you long distance fee. Which in my case was over $30.

Huh??

TravelPass has never included anything but calls locally to the country you are in and back to the U.S.....

You are agreeing to something that wasn't stated in the original post and is not only pretty well known (if you call other countries you will pay international long distance charges) but is also just telephone basics.....

TravelPass even has it in the name ("travel"). I am not sure how you could feel calling other countries is included let alone state that this was promised......

If you TRAVEL to other countries you need an international roaming/travel plan.

If you CALL to other countries you need an international calling/dialing plan.

Hey! I stumbled across your post as I had the same issue when I was in Europe last year (2017).

Did you see the difference in your data speed after testing the "removal" of Data Optimization in Italy?

Thanks!

Yea, and the it's a light gray and small compared to the rest of the text. I would have totally missed it had I not been looking for it because of this thread. Traveling to India. Was going to have TP but now I'll acquire a local sim instead. 2g is barely fast enough for email.

*High speed data applies for the first 0.5 GB/day with 2G reduced speeds thereafter. If more than 50% of your talk, text or data usage in a 60-day period is in Canada or Mexico, use of those services in those countries may be removed or limited.

Verizon's travel pass is a joke.  It works fast on LTE for 2-3 minutes, then grinds to a halt.  I'm nowhere near the 500mb limit to be throttled but I can even open basic Google searches.  If I disconnect and reconnect, it goes back to being fast for another 2-3 minutes.

I went in to Orange and bought a local SIM card (same LTE network my phone has been on) and my phone is actually working.  I plan on requesting a refund of my travel pass one back to the States.
