International travel with Israeli SIM card

I have an I Phone Xs Max and will soon be traveling to Israel for almost 2 months.  How do I know where my SIM card slot is and whether or not my phone is locked?  I have found in previous visits that the best way to get the calling, texting and data that I need is by purchasing a SIM card from 019 Mobile and swapping it with my United States one.  The problem is that this particular phone has never been overseas and , at the time of my last trip, I had a different carrier.  HELP!

I would suggest looking up the phone's user manual for the instructions on how to remove the SIM card from the phone. Verizon Wireless will also have a support page for how to remove the SIM card that is easily found with a search.

As for the SIM unlocking, the phone needs to be activated on the Verizon Wireless network for 60 days after purchase in order to be automatically SIM unlocked per the Verizon Unlocking Policy. https://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
